Research Interests

I have recently returned to work in Cambridge, having spent 1 year at Barts Heart Centre/University College London/Great Ormond Street Hospital, London and 1 year at the Hospital Haut Leveque, Bordeaux. My primary interest is in the mechanisms of ventricular tachycardia initiation and propagation. I use novel high density contact mapping techniques and imaging with MRI and CT to investigate activation patterns of arrhythmias and link these to the presence of scar and wall thinning in patients with cardiomyopathy. The aim of my research is to design more effective and targeted strategies for patients undergoing ventricular ablation procedures.

Other ongoing areas of research are in the use of multi-polar catheters and novel algorithms to map atrial fibrillation, and in the use of 3-D printed models to improve outcome in left atrial appendage closure procedures.
