“Understanding different Healthcare Systems: Cuba, Mexico, Belize and Guatemala"
My elective set out to explore why Cuba has such an excellent health care system, it’s health statistics are far superior to its Latin American neighbours and comparable to those of far richer countries, despite profound deficiencies in resources. I also spent time in Mexico, Belize and Guatemala and complemented my elective by conducting research in evolutionary psychiatry.
