Introduction to Patient and Public Involvement for Researchers

An introductory session for all research staff conducting research studies and clinical trials with patients in the NHS.

Sessions are free for students and staff from the NIHR, NHS, UK universities, public sector institutions and registered charities based in the UK. Please USE a work-associated work email to register (e.g. .nhs.uk, .ac.uk etc.). This session is not suitable for researchers from the private sector. Please contact the organiser if you have any further questions.

Please note if you do not attend, without cancelling or notifying the team in advance.
We will cancel any further tickets booked. We are seeing between 30-40% drop out rate and have large waiting lists- please allow another researcher an opportunity to attend.

The event is suitable for all, but will particularly suit people who are new to PPI and need to understand what it is and for those who are setting up their first PPI project.

Find out about local support available in the region (East of England) to help you plan, deliver and build PPI into your research, that will improve your research for patients and services users and carers.

We will cover (including a five minute break in between):

  • Welcome and introductions (breakout groups)
  • What is PPI?
  • Doing PPI well
