Venue

The symposium will take place at Robinson College, Cambridge, CB3 9AN. Our event will be signposted from the College entrance/porters lodge which is on Grange Road. The Reception desk will be in the Auditorium Foyer, which is on the same level as the Porters' Lodge. All talks will take place in the Main Auditorium and posters will be presented in the Dining Hall and on the Dining Hall Balcony.

Getting there and accessibility

There is no parking available to us at the venue but complimentary parking can be requested a 2 minute walk away from Robinson College. Spaces will be limited and must be booked so please request parking by midday on Tuesday April 14. Please only request a space if you will use it as we have to pay for each space booked. After April 14, spaces may or may not be available, depending on take-up (please ask).

Although there is free parking in several roads that surround the  college: Herschel Road, Sylvester Road, and Adams Road, most of these spaces are usually taken by ~7.30 am, apparently.

Parking at the Madingley Rd Park and Ride is an option and free to park, but note the P&R bus doesn’t pass Grange Road from here. However, you can take the nearby “U” bus, which stops directly in front of Robinson College. The “U” bus is also available from the train station. Taxis can work well but morning traffic can be slower than expected so leave plenty of time. It could be a pleasant walk on a nice day but allow 30 mins+.

If you have a disability and cannot easily arrive by public transport or from a nearby car park, please get in touch with us as we can offer transport. Similarly, if you have an access or other requirement that you have not already notified, feel free to get in touch if you might need assistance.

The College has accessibility information on their website and there is more on Accessable.co.uk. Please contact us if you have any concerns or to request an adjustment.

Timings

Registration in the Main Hall Balcony is from 08:45 (for a 09:10 start) and the symposium finishes with drinks from 17:45. Full programme

Sustainability

We are aiming to keep plastics and consumables to a minimum for reasons of environmental sustainability and will be using card name badges that hang from a lanyard. Please bring your own lanyard but should you forget, or if the shape of your clip doesn’t work with your badge, don’t worry as you can pick up a bamboo lanyard at reception.

We will not be printing programmes but a full itinerary is available online and will be displayed in the venue. Details about our speakers are also available online for event participants. Attendees will also be sent details of posters being displayed on the day.

Dietary requirements

The food provided will be labelled to indicate allergens. Vegetarians will be able to choose from the main table but those who have indicated allergies or a special diet on their booking form will be provided with food plated up separately. Please ask a member of venue staff if you have any further queries.

A selection of soft drinks, as well as wine, will be available at the post-event networking session.
