Cellular and Spatial Genomics to Understand the Architecture of Cardiovascular Health and Disease
Dr Michela Noseda is an Associate Professor in Cardiovascular Science and Director of the MSc Genomic Medicine Programme at the National Heart & Lung Institute, Imperial College London
Her research focuses on applying single-cell and spatial genomics, multiomics, and computational approaches to understand how cellular diversity and adverse remodelling drive cardiomyopathies and heart failure. By integrating human cardiac tissue, large-scale reference atlases, and human iPSC-derived models, her work aims to identify disease-relevant cell states and inform precision therapeutic strategies to improve cardiovascular care.
Learning Outcomes
- Understand how single-cell and spatial transcriptomics are used to build cardiac and vascular atlases of in health and disease.
- Recognise how cellular diversity and organisational principles of cardiac tissue inform our understanding of dilated and hypertrophic cardiomyopathies and heart failure.
- Appreciate the translational potential of human heart and vascular atlases for disease classification and precision cardiovascular medicine.
Please contact either Kazumasa Kanemaru or James Cranley if you wish to arrange a meeting with the speaker
A light lunch will be provided from 12.30 pm
It would be great to see you in person, but if you need to attend remotely please contact Sarah Gibbings for a Teams link.
