We are delighted to welcome Núria Lopez-Bigas as the speaker for our next seminar.  The title of her talk is “Cancer driver mutations in normal tissue and its relation to cancer risk”.

Núria Lopez-Bigas is a Group Leader of the Biomedical Genomics research group at the Institute for Research in Biomedicine(IRB) in Barcelona. Her research focuses on the study of cancer from a genomics perspective. Prior to starting her group in 2006, she worked at the EMBL's European Bioinformatics Institute in Cambridge, UK, where she became a computational scientist. Her lab has made key contributions to identifying mutation drivers in clonal haematopoiesis and across cancer types, interpreting tumour genomes for precision cancer medicine, and discovering mutational signatures linked to cancer treatments.
