Public event: Exploring local research in prevention and early detection. Talks are same in the evening, you only need to book ONE session
A free, in-person event for patients, carers, staff, and the public on preventing disease and improving early diagnosis. Discover why this research matters and how local studies directly benefit patients.
Stopping Disease Before It Starts
For many years, healthcare has largely focused on treating illness after it occurs. Today, however, researchers are increasingly exploring how diseases can be prevented before they develop, helping people stay healthier for longer and reducing pressure on the NHS.
Cambridge is home to world-leading research in disease prevention, bringing together clinical expertise, population health research, advanced technologies and the responsible use of health data. Through the NIHR Biomedical Research Centre: Cambridge, researchers are translating scientific discoveries into practical ways to identify disease earlier, target prevention more effectively and improve health outcomes for future generations.
Join us to hear how prevention research is changing the way we think about health, and how research today could help stop disease before it starts tomorrow.
A hour of talks either in the afternoon (4-5pm) or evening (6-7pm)
There will be a poster-and-networking session where you can take the opportunity to chat with local researchers about their research, over light lunch and refreshments in between the repeated talks, you only need to book one session to attend the talks and poster exhibition
