One of four innovative projects from Cambridge University, funded by a new scheme from UKRI to translate academic impact into practical solutions for global impact, will focus on AI-Based Coronary Artery Analysis. The funded project, led by Prof Martin Bennett of the Department of Medicine, will aim to improve the accuracy and efficiency of coronary artery analysis. Martin worked with Cambridge Enterprise to develop the proposal.
Professor John Aston, PVC for Research, said
“That four Cambridge projects have received UKRI proof of concept funding is a tribute both to the excellence of our researchers and to the support provided by our innovation arm, Cambridge Enterprise, in helping to translate their new ideas into effective solutions to global challenges.”
The £9 million proof of concept programme spans medicines, space science and environment and artificial intelligence (AI) and will help to harness the potential of world-leading UK research to improve lives. A total of 48 projects will receive funding to support and accelerate the development of new or improved technologies, products, processes and services.
