Magnetic resonance imaging & spectroscopy - MRI in the heart, liver and brain

I am an expert in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (MRS). I lead a group developing advanced MRI and MRS methods using the 7T Terra MRI scanner at the Wolfson Brain Imaging Centre.

Our aim is to push the boundaries of MRI techniques, and to translate the latest methods ready for use in clinical studies in collaboration with colleagues in Clinical Neurosciences and elsewhere. My work in Cambridge has a particular focus on applications in the human brain.

I am also a Sir Henry Dale Fellow funded by the Wellcome Trust and the Royal Society. This funds my research group at the OCMR centre, in the Radcliffe Department of Medicine, University of Oxford. My Oxford group also develop and translate advanced 7T MRI and MRS methods. They focus on applications in the human heart and liver.

I was awarded the title of Associate Professor of Biomedical Imaging by the University of Oxford in 2016, and I am a supernumerary fellow at Merton College, Oxford.
