The University of Cambridge is ranked the world's joint third best university by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, with a reputation for research excellence across a broad range of disciplines.
The University has identified cardiovascular disease as a major research priority, and this is endorsed by a current British Heart Foundation Centre of Research Excellence (BHF CRE) of £5 million over 5 years from 2024 to 2029. The BHF CRE brings together a wide range of cardiovascular research across the University of Cambridge and its affiliated institutes, including the Wellcome Sanger Institute.
We aim to provide the leading cardiovascular research training programme in the UK and offer opportunities for basic science researchers and clinician scientists, at all career stages.
