Jason Tarkin awarded WT Clinical Career Development Fellowship

Dr Jason Tarkin has been awarded a Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Career Development Fellowship on "Use of 68Ga-DOTATATE PET to identify the inflammatory phenotype in cardiovascular disease: a clinical translational programme".

His 5-year research fellowship with start on 1st April 2019. He will examine potential clinical translational applications of vascular inflammation imaging using somatostatin receptor PET - including its use for drug discovery, guiding novel therapies in high-risk cardiovascular patients, and for the diagnosis of large vessel vasculitis.

Jason completed his PhD in the Department of Medicine in 2017, and is now a Clinical Lecturer in Cardiology. His primary research collaborator is Dr James Rudd, who was also his PhD supervisor.
