Takahiro Jimba

Takahiro Jimba is a cardiologist and cardiovascular researcher trained in Japan. His background spans clinical cardiology, population science, and bioinformatics. His PhD work includes the study of aerobic exercise on heart tissue using multi-omics analysis. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher in the Teichmann laboratory at the University of Cambridge, where he applies single-cell genomics and artificial intelligence to the study of cardiovascular disease.

His research focuses on understanding how gene regulatory programmes are dysregulated in the human heart and how these changes give rise to disease-associated cellular states. By integrating single-cell and spatial genomics with clinical and population-scale data, he aims to uncover disease mechanisms and contribute to more precise approaches to prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
