My research focuses on megakaryopoiesis and platelet biogenesis from human pluripotent stem cells. We have developed a unique forward programming protocol for efficient production of these cells in vitro which opens new avenues for biological models of normal and pathological thrombopoiesis, as well as for clinical application in transfusion medicine.

My work is developing to the study of molecular mechanisms controlling the megakaryocyte differentiation output from different stem cell sources and advancing the forward programming approach towards clinical application.
