Cambridge Metabolic Network and Cambridge Cardiovascular 'Career paths in cardiovascular & metabolism - making the connections

Friday 11 March 2022, 12.30-6pm (in person)

Venue:  St Catherine’s College, McGrath Centre, Cambridge

This collaborative event has been specifically tailored for Metabolic and Cardiovascular early career researchers (ECRs) and the programme content informed by the results of a survey highlighting the career pathways they would be most interested in learning about.

The afternoon/early evening event is likely to appeal to ECRs (including post-docs and PhD graduate students) who want to find out how to maximise the impact of their work within Industry and to those considering a change of career direction or with a general interest in the formation of spin out companies. Speakers, some of whom are Cambridge Alumni, will cover Industry clinical trials, R&D and drug discovery, as well as other career areas such as media and publishing. There will be plenty of time to network with industry speakers which currently include AstraZeneca, Mogrify, Microbiotica and Novo Nordisk as well as representatives from publishing (Nature Metabolism) and media.

We are hoping to have representatives too from Cambridge Enterprise, Connect Health Tech, The Milner Therapeutics Institute and the University Careers Service.

Registration is open to researchers in Cambridge but priority will be given to members of either Cambridge Cardiovascular or Cambridge Metabolic Network.
