Climate and Sustainability Webinar - Greener Clinical Trials

Paula Williamson (University of Liverpool) will give a talk on the environmental impact of clinical trials and how to make them more sustainable.

Clinical trials are fundamental to improving healthcare, however they are not without environmental impact. In this talk I will describe our work in the MRC-NIHR Trials Methodology Research Partnership Greener Trials group: developing and applying guidance to calculate the carbon footprint of publicly-funded clinical trials; collating feedback from guidance users on feasibility and resource requirements; examining common hotspots and implementing mitigation strategies. Ongoing collaborations across the healthcare system will be discussed.

This is the fifth in a programme of webinars on climate and sustainability run by the School through the year. These are informing the work of the School of Clinical Medicine Climate and Sustainability Action Group, chaired by Ed Bullmore, Acting Head of School. They will support the School, its departments, and the wider University to accelerate action on climate change and do all we can to become sustainable in our work.

The webinars are open to all University staff and students. Please confirm your attendance via responding to the email below.
