Research
My research focuses on imaging the mechanisms of damage and recovery in stroke using multiple techniques. In particular:
1. Molecular imaging of atheroma - especially carotid plaque imaging using PET/CT and MRI techniques. Both Clinical and microPET imaging. Proof of principle trials of novel atheroma drugs with imaging biomarkers.
2. Imaging mechanisms of damage in both ischemic and haemorrhagic stroke using PET, CTperfusion and MRI imaging
3. Imaging mechanisms of recovery from aphasic stroke and behavioural interventions
