Dr Shelly Singh-Gryzbon

My research is focused on using computational modelling to improve understanding of cardiovascular diseases and develop/optimise medical devices used in the treatment of these diseases. More specifically, I work on projects involving prosthetic heart valves for surgical or transcatheter procedures, stents and grafts.

Dr Shelly Singh-Gryzbon is a member of the Cardiovascular Interdisciplinary Research Centres (IRC) Steering Group

I joined Cambridge Cardiovascular as a Research Assistant in Professor Thomas Krieg's lab in December 2023. Prior to this role, I completed my BSc in Biological Sciences (2019-2022) from Imperial College London, specialising in advanced Immunology, infections, and stem cell biology. Afterwards, I completed my MSc in Experimental and Translational Immunology from University College London (2022-2023), specialising in cancer biology and biological therapies.

Dr Patrick Calvert

Patrick Calvert is a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust specialising in coronary and structural intervention and Clinical Lead for Structural Intervention. From 2014-2016, he was a Consultant Cardiologist at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, University Hospitals Birmingham where he was Cardiovascular Clinical Academic Group Lead.

Jack Palmer

Jack is a PhD student on the British Heart Foundation 4-Year PhD Studentship Programme in Cardiovascular Research, who joined the Teichmann lab in 2023. He is jointly supervised by Sarah Teichmann and Richard Tyser (CSCI). He is working on understanding and improving in vitro models of cardiac cells using insights from adult and developing human heart atlases.

Dr Aishwarya Jacob

I was born and raised in India where I finished my schooling and obtained my baccalaureate degree in Biotechnology.  After this, I flew all the way to the lovely midwestern state of Ohio, USA where I earned a PhD in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology from The Ohio State University in Columbus. Following a brief stint as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of California, Santa Cruz, I decided to uproot myself once again and swapped all my dollars for pounds, potato chips for crisps and landed at the Cambridge University in 2016.
