Title: Vascular inflammation imaging using somatostatin receptor PET

Background: Jason Tarkin is a Wellcome Trust Clinical Research PhD fellow at the University of Cambridge, and a Cardiology trainee at the Barts Heart Centre in London. Previously, during medical training, Dr. Tarkin has worked at Hammersmith, Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals. He graduated with Distinction in Medicine from St. George’s, University of London in 2008, and was awarded summa cum laude with honors in Biology from the University of New Hampshire in 2003. The aim of his PhD thesis is to evaluate novel methods for quantifying vascular inflammation in atherosclerosis using non-invasive imaging, with specific focus on somatostatin receptor positron emission tomography.
