Vascular inflammation imaging using somatostatin receptor PET

Jason Tarkin is a Wellcome Trust Career Development Fellow at the University of Cambridge. He was previously a Wellcome Trust Clinical Research PhD Fellow at University of Cambridge and a Cardiology trainee at the Barts Heart Centre in London. He has also worked at Hammersmith, Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals during clinical training. He graduated with Distinction in Medicine from St. George’s, University of London in 2008, and was awarded summa cum laude with honors in Biology from the University of New Hampshire in 2003.

His PhD thesis evaluated novel methods for quantifying vascular inflammation in atherosclerosis using non-invasive imaging, with specific focus on somatostatin receptor positron emission tomography.
